I was told to bring the car in to get it looked at, I'll be looking at a charge of over $500.00, that's only for taken it apart and putting it back together. If they find it's a problem I won't get chraged otherwise I'll pay to get it fixed. I know they won't find anything that will show "abusive driving" but who knows what they will think. I haven't decided yet to bring it in or just upgrade the clucth later on. I still love my car it's just to bad I got one that was made on Monday morning or Friday evening.

Is it like a groaning sound? When you engage the clutch from a gear drop? If yes, ask them to take out the clutch and tighten the nuts that hold the springs to the clutch plate.... that should fix it...

Im sorry guys, but even though I occasionally get the sound, I dont view it as a problem. I remember going to the dealer the first time around when I started hearing the noise, and having the service manager show me a notice to all mitsu service depts, that due to weight savings, there wasnt alot of sound insulation from the tranny noises. It goes on the say that for those EVO owners that come in for the noise, to tell them it is normal.

Personally, it doesnt bother me. Ive heard it in more than one EVO, and I certainly hear it in mine.

Btw, as superz mentioned, I went through a similar situation, where the dealer I went to "guaranteed" that my clutch would be replaced under warranty. My EVO was BONE stock, with less than 3000 miles.

My car sat @ the dealer for over 2 weeks waiting for OEM replacement parts. When they did open up the car, they claim that on that certain day, a regional rep just happend to stop by, and said my car was abused and not to warranty the clutch replacement. They then also told me that whether I want them to do my clutch or not, I have to pay for the labor.

8K miles later with my Exedy Twin Plate, Im happy.
