perrin intake tube + stock UICP = Synapse BOV not fitting!

i recently purchased a slightly used Synapse BOV but i can not get it to fit with the perrin intake and stock UICP.

is there anyone else out there that has tried this combo? if so what did you do to make it fit?? its a tight fit with the stock DV.

worst case i guess i can sale the synapse and try to get the smaller version (DV) or upgrade the uicp. hopefully there is a way to make this current combo work.

thanks in advance!

Most people upgrade the UICP before the bov since the stock Evo IX bov is just fine.

That BOV is too big to fit a lot of setups, try a smaller valve such as their DV or Cobb's new one.

Yeah but from what I have seen it seems that the stock dv can give up some power compared to the synapse or Cobb unit. I have always heard that an aftermarket UICP never gives u more power. It seemed that replacing the stock dv is a better bang for your buck. But than again I could be wrong

The stock diverter on the Evo 8, correct. It is plastic. The stock Evo IX (metal) is fine. If you find that it leaks, crush it. They have been proven to hold some decent boost while maintaining stock driveability.

Always thought by crushing it drivability suffered. I agree at my power level I shouldnt need it but I have seen a few threads where people would replace it with a synapse or similar and they would gain a few hp/tq. I have also seen a few that would crush it and gain as well. If I remember correctly I have read a couple of threads where CBRD replaced the stock unit and gained. If worst case scenario I can always keep it until I decide to change the setup a little

the synapse COMPACT diverter will work fine with that configuration.... it sometimes takes some moving around though!

I've seen a perrin intake with a forge RS bov. It's pretty big, it fit though. The stock return tube from the BOV back to the intake seemed to big for the set up, trying a shorter one might help your situation also. Just an idea.
