I would suggest testing the Perrin/Buschur MBC v.s. this one. I ran a Hallman for a long time, and just switched to the Perrin. Boost builds faster and held better up top with the Perrin.
Buschur also stated in a thread that he saw gains switching from a Hallman to his (Buschur MBC is a Perrin copy)

I have used the hallman before, so I have some experience with it.
I dont really like the perrin/BR inline design. Regardless, If someone wants to send me one. Ill include it in the test.
Also, if someone wants to sends me an hallman, I can include that in the test too.
Matter fact, if people wanna send various MBCs to me, Ill test them all.
And Ill ship them back when done with them.

Thanks again
Just so everybody knows we don't have any willie-nillie claims left and right, just tried and true. If you are a professional tuner or have a shop and you doubt us, put us to the test!

I don't see it in the picture, but does this MBC have a bleed hole like the others?
This is the thread where Buschur mentions the MBC change

I'm all for new and improved MBC's. Not a fan of solenoids or EBC's.

hey guys,
this may be a noob question but I just got this boost controller put on my car and I have a couple of questions. I had a Greddy Profec B boost controller on my car for almost 2 years now. The EBC was working great and I had no issues. I went to AWD Motorsports this past weekend to get an ACT clutch installed and while the mechhanic was removing some parts to get access to my clutch, he damaged one of the wires from the boost controller harness when he unplugged it. This led to my car running on wastegate pressure whenever I floored it which was around 10 psi. Realizing this issue the following day, we decided to put this MBC on the car to get her running correctly. The MBC works great and I'm now back to my old psi setting of 24 psi. My issue is that when I had the greddy, my wastegate would begin to open around 10 psi. I can confirm this because I have an O2 Dump and the car begins to get much louder once this occurs. Now with this MBC I noticed that my wastegate doesn't open until around 22 psi. Is there anyway to fix this issue? I figure since my wastegate is opening later, my acceleration has dropped due to the time it takes for the wastegate to open. Do I need to get a different wastegate to fix this issue? FYI I'm still running the factory turbo setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

To the contrary: Before, with your EBC programmed as it was, the WG was opening prematurely and you were losing turbo spoolup.

Any update update on the MBC shootout? I currently run the Hallman Pro Rx and like it a lot, but recent reviews of the Perrin/Buschur and the expectations on the Grimmspeed MBC definately got my attention.
