Should I remove the clutch restrictor?

I just bought the SS clutch line... still debating if I should remove
the restrictor while I'm installing the SS line...

Anyone have bad experience with removal of the clutch restrictor?
I know that it will make clutch grab w/o slipping... but I'm a bit
worry about drivetrain damage like the pop I heard the other
day...

What do you guys think?

No. Mitsubishi put it there for a reason. Call up your dealer and ask how much they would charge for a transfer case replacement...

i agree. Taking the clutch restrictor plate out is probably one of the stupider things you can do, unless you really don't mind voiding your warranty and paying for a new tranny should it break on you.

The restrictor may harm the clutch engagement, but when you launch and send so much shock to the drivetrain, either the clutch takes it or the tranny does. Ill let you figure out which one's cheaper.

Yeah bro, as long as youre not dumping it, it won't make much of a difference functionally, but then again, that also means that you wouldn't really be reaping any of the benefits of having the restrictor removed...

But you would still be voiding the warranty on the tranny...

I would leave it in, my evo is making about 330ish WHP and it works fine, I can spin all 4 in 1st without dumping it.

True. But with the majority of these modifications we put on our cars you're pretty much screwed anyway. You don't necessarily have to mod the tranny in any way in order to void the warranty. Trust me, I know... I'm a GSM of a dealership.

Dont remove it. I was thinking for a long long time before. It's there to save ur tranny. When u up ur tranny to a HKS twin plate or similar, YOU WILL NEED A RESTRICTOR.

Over 14k, restrictor removed... no problems with many, many "launches". The clutch feels like it should have from . If someone is "dumping the clutch" on this little car to launch it, they need a swift kick in the *** anyway. Also, If anyone is so got damned worried about the "warranty" save it like the rest of the "honest" people here on this forum.

Sorry, the rant was for all these people with "experience" of having the restrictor removed and not you JT-KGY. Enjoy your car, and take any advise you get here with a grain of salt... including mine.

Mitsu designed and put that restrictor there for a reason. You dont think MM knows what they are doing. I mean Mistu wanted to keep cost down so they sent the car with a good average exhaust. Other parts we upgrade do not hurt the car (fuel pump cams airfilter) but taking the restrictor out. Again it is there for a reason, you dont want to find out what for. If you do it may be Expensive.
