How do I know if the transfer case (front open diff) is gone???
Any easy way I could do a quick test??

I heard a loud bang noise today when I shift out of 3rd gear and
decided to put back in 3rd then release the clutch very quickly...

Hope I didn't break anything..

Btw, the noise sounds like coming from directly under
the shifter..

Anyone?

You'll hear a really loud whining sound when driving your car about 2500 RPM. I had mine replaced at about 7000 miles. The cause: Excessive clutch drops, and all out disrespect for an AWD transmission.

But as far as the driving goes... it does drive any different w/ a
busted front diff?

My car always has a electric-like whining sound when cold... i
think it's coming out of the alternator...

I wouldnt know because as soon as I started hearing that noise I didnt drive it hard.. If you arent hearing that loud whining noise then you are probably fine. Just take it easy on the transmission. but if you really want to know just take it in to
