Anyone removed the EGT?

I was wondring if anyone has tried tampering with the EGT valve.

Any experience to share?

Why would you remove it? It doesn't hurt performance and its Illegal to tamper with it. From what I know, it doesn't help or hurt performance so its not something to tamper with anyway.

as far as i know the EGR recirculates exhaust gasses in teh intake to lower conbustion byproducts.

By letting exhaust gasses back in the combustion chamber the EGT steals power!

i believe the EGR only is functional when the engine is cold (to pass cold start emission tests and to warm the engine up quicker) and it doesn't get used when the engine is hot....at least i think thats how it was in the 80's lol i don't know about now

hmm...acutally i don't really know..i know it robbed power out of carburated cars but i dunno about EFI cars...

I just like clean motors personally, and would rather block off the egr system then to let the carbon deposits and what not enter back into my intake manifold.
