Timimg Belt install.

G'day all from Australia...
Just finished changing the timing belt and balance shaft belt and water pump on my evo 7.
I read some guides listed in these forums and i have to say, the job really wasn't that difficult, the guides helped a lot though!
YES having 2 people is almost a must but only to hold the cams at TDC while the other muks around with that DAMN oil pump gear.
If you were going it alone, a couple of cable ties around the cam gears and belt would work a treat!
Oh, the power steering bracket was a pain in the ***.... had to pull it off to change a pulley.

Yeah, before I do the belts again, I'm going to have one of those plastic gizmos you stick in the cam sprockets. With the cams locked in place the job will be half as difficult. BTW, I had my wife start the bolts in that bracket - little hands.

Good idea man. My girlfriend would rather eat a slug and die than work on my evo...she's gotta go I've decided haha!
