gt45r turbo

what's the approximate max boost in the GT45R? i see so many people talking about them but there's hardly ever any numbers.... Garrett's site doesn't have anything on it either...

Well I think it's normal to see around 44-50psi on the 42R (like with AMS drag car), so I'd imagine a little more than that with the 45R

max boost as in the tips are going to fly off from overspeed or max boost as in where the turbo is producing the most lb/min

You shouldn't bother with a GT45 unless........well just don't bother with a GT45. IMO that is waaaaaaayyyyyyy to big. GT37 is plenty, or a 6765....

these usto be used alot back in 06-07 now thing of the past since you can make the same power with smaller turbos.

no need to make 1000 hp to make a 9sec pass now it can be made with 700 hp

Cant do this on a small turbo-



We never hit the end of the 4508 turbo, this was 48psi with the old style S3s.

If you went to turbobygarrett.com, looked at the compressor maps for the GT45 and GTX45, they show pressure ratios for 4.25 and 4.75 respectively. So about 47 and 54psi at their rated speeds. You could push them harder though....
