I put my act hdss on at 48,000 miles when I put meth on the car. I had mitsubishi put it on for me, charged a good amount but was worth it. The main mechanic did it and everything went well.

They resurfaced the stock flywheel for me and that was it. The meth kit has been off for 2 years now and the car has 105,000 miles. Not a single problem but I haven't even launched once. I get some chatter on decel on the highway but it never really bothered me much.

I'll give a thumbs up to the ACT clutch and a thumbs down to the OP. 40k+ on mine and no issues.

I've put 61k on my HDSS, but the clutch was on the car when I got it, so it's seen more miles than that.

exactly! Before I put in my ACT clutch I've done so many research about it. OEM TOB is the way to go.

I'm in the same boat. Same clutch and I used ACT's TOB.

Now I have to pull my tranny out too..

I'm just scared when I get the tranny out, I wont be able to seperate the TOB from the clutch. I wasn't able to seperate it on my last clutch I simply removed it from the flywheel.

Anyone successfully taken off the TOB by wedging a flathead and turning?

I had no problems getting the clip to release the TOB. Follow the directions at
http://www.evomoto.com/tech_articles..._article_id=27

Just use the fork to push the whole assembly together then use the screwdriver to cause the clip to come out at the same time as the TOB. Do it slowly in more than 1 spot and it pops right out.

OEM clutch TOB and pressure plate done by yourself will cost you less than $300. Resurface flywheel yourself with sandpaper and some kind of improvised rotating assembly. Will hold well over 400whp for years if you dont launch

Lol please delete this thread mods... I have been running an HDSS for over 40k with well over 350 wtq with 0 issues. TOB, as stated above, is a wear item and this could be an install issue from an inexperienced shop.

To the OP... Take it to someone that knows what they are doing next time and save yourself a huge headache and a few hundred bucks.
