Weird Engine Noise SOS! VIDEO INSIDE

Ok guys the other day i noticed this higher pitch metal sounding noise at about 3500-4000 rpm range and up, its consistant with the revs of the motor and sounds somewhat chattery i have a video, not best quality but its the sound thats important, sound is best heard from the sides of the motor by the front wheels, from the top and bottom its not as noticable. At the end of the first rev is where it can be heard best. Oh and i have about 3500miles on my rebuilt engine.

I went through and looked for things that could be loose maybe causing a vibration and failed, even went as far as to drop the pan to check bearings (probably not needed) but also nothing. Here are what the rod bearings looked like.

Basically im just at a stand still and not really sure what to check if you guys recognize the sound or maybe have some idea of what it might be please give me some help. Until further notice car is being garaged.

Oh and sorry for poor video and image quality, all i had on hand was the phone.

I have chatter with my twin at idle and it scared me at first. It should not be loud enough to tell anything when engaged and driving so I would rule this out unless there was a serious problem with the clutch. Also you would feel problems while driving too.

does it drive smooth, ie, the only problem you can tell is that there is a noise? I would check the belts and pulleys also.

^^ this guy might be onto somethin, check your exhaust piping for any burn marks or anything on exterior of it....might need to be shifted around on the exhaust hangers a bit for clearance.

Deff sounds like an exhaust shield or pipe of some sort.....if not you can also take off the serpentine belt and rev it to see if it still does it to rule out any of the pulleys but remember the water pump wont be working.

I put my money down on an exhaust part

I had the same noise. It always happened at 3000 rpm. Got under the car and it was the heat shield.

Good luck with what ever the problem is

Well i have been through this thing so many times to find nothing loose nothing on the exhaust no pulleys, i do believe it is something vibrating, with my buddys fresh ears he believes its coming from inside the cat. And yes the car rus/idels fine.

you checked the heat shield under the car around the cat right? mine was bent a little and touching the cat which caused a similar rattle.

could be the cat though. takes 10 min to pop it off and inspect it.
