Front end noise

Hey, guys. For the last few months most of the time when i brake, I can hear like a clunking chattering type noise in the front (think it's the passenger side) of my car. It almost sounds like something is loose and getting moved around when I brake. When I took my snow tires off the other day I noticed my rotor was loose and would wiggle around some, but then read that can be normal? So what do you guys think the noise could be? Thanks

best thing to do is jack up the front and check your tie rods and ball joints. Grab the wheel, put your hands at 9 and 3 o'clock and check for play. do the same thing with your hands at 12 and 6 o'clock. Tie rod ends and ball joints are normal wear and tear maint

sit in car with car running and move wheel back and forth real quick, listen for a clunk... if you hear one, check tie-rods. thats just a quick test. get the car in the air and inspect everything though. I just had to replace mine at 57,000 !

A cracked rotor can make noise.

Well when I put my springs on the shock was fine. That was less than a year ago. I really cannot remember if it made the sound before I put the springs on.

if those suggestions check out, you might also wanna remove the tire check for leaking grease and then check the usual( ball joints check for tears in cv boots) or clunk could be as simple as coil spring for struts not seated properly.

oh another thing to check too that i just thought of, check your upper strut mounts and see if there cracked or cracking... at 57k u should look into replacin your struts around 50 k or sooner if leaking...

Ok thanks. When I put the springs on I think I was at about 50k and they were completely fine so I didn't even think of replacing them. I will check them though.
