I'm having a built shortblock, but sticking with a stock head. It will be re-built, but all OEM specs.

I have been looking at cams, and can't really set my mind on what will work best for it.

I have seen the BF 272s, and read good things about it, but just curious on what opinions everybody has.

I believe those are better suited for the big boy turbo's last I saw. A GT35R, or FP Black would be the smallest you would want to go. Don't know how friendly they are with the stock ECU either. Are you looking to drag race the car?

make sure to do your head studs, bigger lifters, better valve springs/retainers while your at it since your in there.

 

Cams will work just fine on a stock head. Depending on what cams you go with though you will want to do springs and maybe retainers depending on how much power you want to make.

GSC S2's are very popular and seem to make the most power from what I've seen. I just put the GS S2's in my car with a stock turbo and picked decent power and it help the power not fall off so drastically as well.

 

the cams will work on stock head as long as you do as everyone else said head studs lifter srpings all that are a must but as for porting and vavle jobs not really needed till big hp build.
