Also if you get the 6262.... u have alot more room to push it later once u build the motor.... Also I suggest the 6235R it seems to spool no difference really and makes just a little more for the same price, it's comparable to the HTA3586 from what I read and the 6262 is more like a HTA3582. AMS has some minor info on their site in their turbo section, they call it the 900x Turbo though....

fp red will get u in the 11's on meth. 30psi or so. that is ur cheapest route with ur current setup. also, fp_red holds its value around 1k. You can easily resell down the line.

If you go the 6262 route. Its a easy 10k different story, if done right to get its full potential..

Simply remember that you want a street car. Putting a big laggy turbo on it will make you hate your car, ask all the people here that have done it. 11's on a Red on good pump gas should be very attainable and you will still enjoy it. Bigger is not always better.

I have no personal experiences with either turbo. I have seen the results of both. A 6262 will be a turbo you can grow with. I have never been a fan of the stock frame turbo deals such as the fp red/black/blue/white/green whatever etc etc lol. But I would have to say someone that would want a fun/quick daily I would stick with the fp variants of the stock frame over a 6262.

You mean the 6265......that's the turbo I'm running and I hit full boost at around 4k

On a 2.0? I call bs on this unless you can show a log or something... That is unless you mean 4k as in 4900...

But not to cloud up the thread with who can spool at what rpm, I think you will be very happy with a red. You will see very quick spool, great hp AND tq, and have a pretty fun little low 11 sec street car. The 6262 will be a much more expensive route to possibly go faster down the road if you really feel like building the motor and stuff, but, you will still be able to cut 10's on a red with a well thought out setup.

Not trying to be a D**k but care to post a dyno sheet or a log with your boost curve?

i dont know how ppls want a quick spool turbo for daily, it gets worst mpg and annoying when cruising because u get in boost all of time

You have a point here. I daily drive my 9 turbo setup and its super hard to stay out of boost. im down to about 15-16mpg local. It does well on the highay though, which is where most of my mileage comes from

Rather than a 6262 go for a Turbo with a Garrett Dual Steel Ball Bearing Core that is water and oil Cooled... like:

PTE6235R
HTA3582R

The earlier 6262's were Dual Steel Ball Bearing Core, the ones available now are Ceramic Ball Bearing Oil Cooled only no water... I believe the older ones were more reliable...

For peace of mind rather by a Garrett Core Turbo.
