Curious about Mitsy Turbos specs - 9MR and 10 ...

Hi all , I was just chasing up Evo 10 turbo specs for someone contemplating using the 10s 12cm turbine housing for a hybrid on something else .

When searching I came across this Mitsubishi PDF of "The new 4B11T Engine" and noticed things I had not seen before with the spec of the 9MR and 10 turbochargers .

http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/cor...008/20e_05.pdf

Firstly I expected to see differences in the clockwise rotation 10s turbo but not the compressor designation of the 9MR - 155G6C and 155G6m6C for the magnesium wheel .
I will search but is this 155G6C compressor a slightly smaller one than the 16G6C I though all 9s had . Is this along similar lines to the Evo 6 16G and 15GK2 TME scenerio ?

Just curious , propeller heads like me always are .

Thanks in advance , cheers Adrian in Oz .

Adrian: You've really gotta stop thinking so much. Don't they serve Foster's on tap nearby?

I dont believe that is accurate. I have never seen that until now to be honest A. It has always been the 16G6 on every other board. While I realise that comes from the source, my MR turbo has been around the block a few times since I bought the car 5 years ago and I happen to know that the standard IX housing fits.

Here in the Shire we pronounce Fosters "Festers" . I prefer beer to be black and even then I blend secret octane additives into it .

It turns out that its the Japaneses Domestic Market Evo 9MR turbos that use the 155G6C or 155G6mC (magnesium) compressor wheels so you wouldn't see them on USDM 9MR or RS cars . I think all USDM Evo 9s got the 16G6 compressor wheel .

Someone here found a pic of an Evo 9 MR turbo and the numbers on its ID pad go as follows

49378-01590
TD05HRA-155G6mC-10.5T
061221039

I suppose it woud be called a 90 series by some and I'll search for more details .

A .
