fp turbos
fp turbos
Every time I go to see races I see all these big turbo evos getting pulled on by smaller trbo less horsepower evos with turbos like the hta fp green or the fp red.
is this because of the power these cars are making and how efficient are the turbos at those power levels?
in order to be efficient what power does an fp black, fp red, and fp green have to make?

its all about the spool time and the flow. All the fp turbos have proven to spool pretty quick ( 3500-4000 rpm range) and also flow soo much air. If the spool and flow is dialed in properly then you have a very efficient turbo that can make good power. When it comes to bigger turbos, yes they are great and they flow a lot and make crazy power but your spooling is very slow, meaning you will get lag. But once they start going then there is no stopping them.
Flow is what makes the power and spool is what gets you ahead of the game to get to that power quicker.

something to watch out.... check the design if the BW EFR wheels and FP wheels.... looks very similar.... and fp has been using that design for some time now... the fp guys understand air flow in turbos.
From what I was told it made 641hp on 40psi at DG motors dyno in NY (now running at like 25-30psi) and I just changed some stuff and upgraded to S2 cams. Some say they fiddle with the dyno correction factor to read higher, I really dont know if true or what, he did do a good job tuning it though but either way it was makin some good power....I can post up a vid but dont want to hijack the thread or start no fights because theres a 7 page thread on the car (from previous owner) and some guys might bring the subject back up and turn into another locked thread haha
