What are the differences with the FP Turbo's?
I see the FP Black, FP Green, and FP Red, What are the difference, they all cost about the same, but what are the differences?
They are all based off of the same Turbocharger. The difference is in spool and peak horsepower. The FP Green is the fastest spooling and makes the least peak HP. The FP Black is the slowest spooling and makes the most peak HP. The FP Red lives in between.

right now it's my Daily, but i would like to use it for Drag Racing (not street like at the track)
i wish there was the same car with the same mods that ran each turbo, to see what the difference was

The differences are already very well defined; same with the MAP EF-series turbos. Once you start drag racing, do you intend to keep using it also as your daily-driver or will it become primarily a weekend warrior? Do you want to retain the stock block or will you be building the engine?

FINALLY…. lol i have been seeing the "FP red, black, green" everywhere and for whatever reason i couldn't figure out what exactly it was referring too… noob stuff.. but i was searching before posting
glad someone asked haha
I've had the green and now I'm on the red. The green spools faster but starts to run out of breath at higher rpms. A lot of guys like to use the green for auto cross. I ended up wanting more power and went with a red for my daily driver. It's a lot of fun and keeps pulling to redline. As far as the lag goes on the red it isn't really noticeable but that's IMO. That was my main concern with the red was lag after reading some posts but after owning one it cleared up any worries I might have. Also the green is probably a safer bet on a stock block. I don't think u could go wrong with the red or green both are fun turbos. I Don't have any opinion on the black as I haven't ventured there... Yet

Green is for a daily driver if you live in traffic and get short burst an the highway on ramps etc. Honestly the turbo lag on the red is not bad at all and it performs much better at the higher rpm's, so this is a good pick for that daily driver/weekend warrior. I personally don't care for the black, but that could be that all my car's have had dual lives of street and track. I drove one car that had a black turbo and I found the usable power band too short.
Can anyone tell me the difference (in the car feel) between a Journal Bearing Red and a Ball Bearing Red? I know the Ball Bearing Red suppose to spool faster, but will it make that much of a difference?
Also, what is the typical full boost for a Red and/or Black with basic bolt-ons?
