what is the max boost level on a stock turbo with the factory tune?

ok so i know there are a lot of threads concerning this question but none that i found really applied to me or im not for sure and i dont what to **** up my car. so im planning on going e85 when ever i get all the parts i need but for now i dont want to spend a **** ton of money just to get my car tuned and then 5 months or so later get it retunedm for e85. i have an 05 evo viii and the mods i have done to it are turbo back exhaust, aem intake, evo ix bov, south bend stage 3 clutch, act street light flywheel, and greddy PRofec B-spec 2 boost controller i just got. i want to use the boost controller to up the psi a little and was wondering if its safe to do that with a stock turbo and with out a pro tune and how much would be ok?

raising the boost without a tune is a terrible idea. you risk major damage doing that.

ok what about just fixing how much it tapers down with the boost controller and keep the max and 19? cause it will stay at 19 for a little bit then taper down to about 13 or 15

a boost controller will help reduce the taper but id still really suggest getting a tune regardless.

Why do you guys think it is OK to remove the factory boost taper when the factory fuel maps/ign timing maps are set for the taper? Also, USDM VIII's and IX's have different max boost pressures.

A tune is way less than what you already spent on parts. Not to mention your probably not getting half the capability of the parts you already have. My tuner re tunes for a little over half the price of the initial tune which was only $300. Just get a tune and quit being cheap.

if you can detect knock and your A/F ratio you'll be ok

but you will need a tune with e85

its not that im being cheap cause i didnt buy the intake and exhaust it was already on there when i bought the car and the clutch went out so i had to replace it. the cheapest tune out near me is about $500. cant be cheap unless you have the funds to actually buy the tune haha

If he can already "detect" knock and AFRs, then he's already got everything he needs to tune the car himself.

not really...

having a wideband A/Fr gauge and a knock light(CEL flash) in the car does not mean you can tune a car...good joke though
