downpipe dilemma... used or new?

1st off... searched for a few hours and couldn't really get the info I needed so I'm coming here...

I found a used helix downpipe locally for $70... I believe they're around 300 new... already has the o2 bung welded for o2 sensor so that would save me a bit of a headache... but I also saw a brand new Tanabe downpipe for $120 from evasive... should I just spend the extra $50 and get a brand new one? I don't want to encounter any problems with the downpipe... but I also saw that the tanabe is 2.75 inches and the helix is 3 inches...

any help?

also, I'll be ordering a megan racing testpipe soon, and if I ended up getting the tanabe downpipe I would just order the testpipe with the o2 bung welded on

I would go ahead with the used one. Their is nothing really special about a downpipe as long as it hasn't been modified or dented.

If youre doing a downpipe, might as well go with a 3". Like dude said above, used is fine. Its just a pipe, really. Its not going to wear out or go bad. And if your lucky you can find one thats already set up for wideband. Just make sure on used that you do check to make sure the welds and flanges are not boogerd up. Dents are more of an aesthetics thing.

dents can restrict exhaust flow and slow spool!
