I have all you have listed above except the head gasket. Im going with the stock head gasket and am also shooting for the same hp you are. The guys at Map are great to deal with.

QUESTION for y'all.

why are people so quick to shy away from JE pistons??
I almost cant imagine NOT running them, as myself and several people i 110% trust wouldn't run anything else.

Bump!

last question, vary curious if there's actually reasoning behind this.

well those internals are good theres a 100 different ways to skin a cat, the company that built my engine used je pistons, eagle rods, pro series rings, acl race bearings and thrust washers, arp main head rod studs, balance shaft eliminator kit, bc springs and retainers, according to my tuner, my block is rated for 750 hp, and on an fp red, i wont make that....so the internals you have listed op will work. Just make sure to reinforce the block as much as possible, so your internals dont try to escape out the block like someone bein shot at in a drive by...haha
good luck with your choice.

map i beams, or manley turbo tuffs. both proven to 1000+
wiseco hd's(if mostly on pump 10:1, if mostly on e85 10.5:1)
regular arp's are fine.
oem head gasket, nuff said.
ACL bearings

and heck if you were going to keep your trq bellow the 500 range why not just go with some eagle h beams? things are light as crap.

Alot of opinions and no factual data....
Id say a 270 gram JE (buschur spec, FSR, 270666, Etc) and some BME or R&R alu rods with 6 bolt style wide bearings will outperform just about anything you guys can think of. Coat the pistons and combustion chambers with some ceramics, and you're done.... Yes, 10.0 compression can be had, as well a TITANIUM WRIST PINS 22mm (for additional ~300$, and imho its worth it, as well as oil shedding coating on the crank and rods, piston bottoms for extra $$$) .

for the 700hp range, do you guys recommend O-ringing the block?

There's guys making 1000+ hp without an o-ring'd block....usually the cause of HG failure is the head lifting under high boost. Get good headstuds and u should be fine.
