thoughts on these internals!?
I'm here to once again call upon the collective evo mind for peoples thoughts, insights, and exsperiances with internals.
I'm looking to build an engine with a capacity of 650-700whp on leaded fuel, around 30psi.
ive talked to the guys at MAP and here is what i have so far.
Wiseco 1400hds pistons (9.5:1 OR 10.0CR, thoughts?)
L19/h11 studs
MAP I-beam rods
Cosworth head gasket
ACL Race Bearings
Gates Racing Belt
thanks for the input guys!

The aftermarket ones require the head to be mirror finish smooth. The stock one is more forgiving and there is no reason to use an aftermarket one, unless you need it as a slight spacer from shaving your head too much. The parts you listed sounded fine though. Hell, I know somebody that is pushing close to 700whp with eagle rods and JE pistons. No issues so far and he drives it a lot and tracks it pretty often.
^^ i see what you're saying...but building a high HP motor requires precision..so having a mirror finish on your deck so you’re able to run a stronger gasket in there, doesn’t seem like a big deal to me...since you have to machine the block for main studs, hot tank, hone....etc anyway.

I'd use the OEM timing belt and A1 studs, which are substantially stronger than the L19, are reusable, and don't cost a lot more (MAP has them).
Wiseco 1400HD are fine. CP are even better. I'd stay away from JE's myself, although others like them. As far as CR goes, it depends on what you are planning for fuel. E85 10:1 are better. Pump gas, say with the 9.5:1.

the motor is still good so if the cross hatch in the sleeve is still clean then i'll do a quick ball hone run from there.
any reason to pick those rods over the MAP pieces?
