Swapping Turbine housing on gt3071r

I was wondering if anyone has swapped to a .82 a/r or 1.06 a/r turbine housing on a gt3071R. I was thinking about switching to the t4 .82 a/r so I can also use the V-band exhaust fitting and fit a new exhaust manifold that I just purchased. Any info helps, thanks for looking.

If you have a 3"turbo back exhaust and you are running a healthy amount of boost, you should swap to the .82. In these conditions, contrary to popular belief, you will see better spool and more top end with only a slight loss in torque before the turbo begins to spool.

Yea, I have a 3 in exhaust from the turbo back and I plan to push about 30 psi if all goes well, thanks for the input, hopefully I'll have it swapped by the 10th or so next month.

why not just buy a better t3 turbo? Maybe a little research would help also.

The turbo is in good shape and I like the response, but my current manifold is cracked and the new manifold is for a t4 turbo, the turbine housing is like 300 whereas a new turbo is like 1500 or so, I figured swapping housings would be more cost effective.

Where in VA are you? I think the Houseing switch is much better then a new turbo lol. Also look at FP they might do more then a Houseing and also a little more $ and its a HTA turbo which is allot better.

I may see what they can do as far as a rebuild, it depends on how everything looks when I pull the turbo to put on the new housing and exhaust. I live in Gloucester.
