MOD order with specific budget+list+GOAL
MOD order with specific budget+list+GOAL
I've read the "how to mod your evo for $100" , "everything ive learned after 4+ years with my evo" , "how to tune your evo" , and "evo modding for dummies" threads about 50 times and still have a few questions.
It seems like some of the info might be outdated since I've been reading mixed opinions.
With a 2005 VIII MR, a $500 a month budget, what would be the best order to reach around 350 whp on a mustang dyno? I know what mods I would need, from reading other peoples numbers it looks like TBE, intake, licp, fuel pump, injectors, and a good e85 tune can usually get a car to around 350 whp. Just want to know a good route to take, and exactly what I would NEED.
Let's say my total budget is $2000 and I already have a full TBE, intake, bov, tactrix cable, and evoscan.
Here's what I was thinking :
1. AEM UEGO WIDEBAND KIT ~$200 if I'm not mistaken
2. DEPO BOOST + OIL PRESS GAUGE ~$100 together
3. Grimmspeed EBCS (~$100) do you really need an EBCS or can you get away with just a boost pill? Do I need an EBCS to tune the evo for higher boost?)
4. OMNI 4-BAR MAP SENSOR (~$100, again, is this really needed?)
5. Walbro fuel pump (~$100 + install price)
6. lower intercooler piping (is MUSE any good? they were around $150)
7. Single map remote ROAD tune ($150)
2nd round of mods
8. FIC 1050CC INJECTORS (around $350? + install price... however much that is)
9. e85 dual map ROAD tune ($200)
So the total would be around $1500 give or take due to pricing changes...
Should I just delay the single tune and do the e85 dual map tune at the very end?
I understand I will get mixed opinions, I'm just looking for an overall general idea on the path that people take nowadays. Also want to know when a tune is NECESSARY for the safety of the car after certain mods (fuel pump, etc)
Please don't post anything if you don't have evidence to back it up; I don't want false claims
Also what things do people usually install themselves, and what things should be left to professionals. I could find a shop to use and am sure I could find the tools I need. I am in no way an experienced mechanic and know nothing about wiring.
Help would be greatly appreciated as I really want to have an "enjoyable" summer
THANKS
-Ron

That looks about right.
If you are going to do remote e-tunes, then you need the MAP sensor to do it properly.
You could ditch the Grimmspeed for a MBC, but the 3port EBCS are better IMO.

I'll be sure to order from MAP then.Did you install it yourself?
