Hks 7460?

Considering buying a hks 7460. Going to be running the turbo on the stock block. Just wondering what kind of numbers its putting down and if its a decent turbo. Also I want to make sure it doesnt put out to much tq that it will kill my motor. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks

There's plenty of reading to do, as you can see. Some of the early results weren't too impressive, but its proven to be a very nice turbo. If properly set up and tuned, it can give you 400whp on pump gas, which is a pretty standard goal for those with a stock motor. It doesnt seem to have quite the punch that FP or BBK turbos have, but the hks is ball bearing so you should get a bit more longevity.

I think the reason most people turn to FP or CBRD is because they manufacture their products right here in the USA, and if any problem arises you can basically pick up the phone and get a hold of the person who hand-built your turbo. Never dealt with hks, but I'm pretty sure that wont be the case with them. The hks is a nice turbo, but there is much more data, evidence and support available with its competitors.

The HKS is not based off of the mitsu CHRA like the other turbos. Also the FP and BBK turbos have been known to make more power but are also significantly larger as well. We have yet to see a HKS turbo just fail while we get roughly 3 other stock frame turbos that fail a month. The FP stuff does make awesome power but do not seem to hold up

It's a pretty nice turbo. As long as you have a good tuner, and the correct supporting mods you shouldn't have to worry about blowing up your motor.
