Is this a radiator or intercooler issue?
So i just autocrossed for the first time yesterday and i foundnmysel having to stop and let the evo cooler for a half hour about ever 3 passes on a 30 sec course. Mods are in my signature but. At the end of march i made an 8 hr road trip to wichita to visit my brother and on the way back my cel came on and the car got a very very strange feeling likenthenloss of power. This was about 6 hrs into the drive. My temps skyrocketed and i pulled over. Long story short a nice guy got me some radiator fluid and i put about a gallon in and drove off. Did i do it wrong or is this an intercooler problem? Thanks guys!
If the engine is getting hot there is an issue with the cooling system. Not IC related.

ok so wait theres two issues, then you felt a loss of power first, then later your temp gauge started getting hot. Well first thing you need to do is find the source of the coolant leak, check all 4 of your coolant hoses( upper hose from radiator to thermostat, lower hose from housing to radiator, both heater core hoses from firewall to back of thermostat housing), check the radiator on the endpieces for coolant leaks, hopefully its one of those and not your water pump. But have it pressure tested to find out for sure. As far as your loss of power, a simple easy method, is start at your licp off the turbo tug on the piping a bit and feel for any movement, go over each clamp ( might take a while) tighten up the clamps to the point where you feel it wont tighten down anymore ( might wanna invest in tbolt clamps if you dont have em), and go to each in line on the piping till you get to the throttle body, and that should probably take care of that issue, good luck post with any updates or questions.

so where is it leaking to then?? is it in my engine? cause when i autocross and the temp gauge climbs i open the hood to let it cool off and there is a crap ton in the resivour boiling but when its cool there's non in the resivour
Its your H/G. If you can't see any leaks your most likely burning it off hence why you had to add a gallon of coolant. You should never have to add that much. When you said you saw it boiling in the overflow tank is because the engine is acting like a air pump and pumping air into the coolant passage. This causes the boiling point to become much less and hence the boiling effect you are seeing. Id rec. you stop driving the car before you cause the head to become wrapped if its not already. You can check for white smoke from the exhaust to indicated h/g problems, coolant in the oil (when draining coolant will come out first then oil) or the boiling effect you had mentioned.
now that you mention that i did see white smoke out the exhaust. it was just a faint whiff but still there. i haven't had to add any coolant in two months but i did just do an oil change four days ago so i'll ask the guy what he saw. thanks. if i wanted to do a total gasket overhaul how much labor am i looking at

e85 will smell sweet also if its idling around 14.7-15.0 afr or so. any richer then 13 and it smells like toxic corn 
now that you mention e85, maybe the cars tuned past MBT at peak tq.. i see it happen all the time.. the excessive cylinder pressure eventually lifts the head up.. and this can all occur without any knock occuring depending on the afr.
