Evo VI vs Evo 8/9 transmission half shaft spline differences
Evo VI vs Evo 8/9 transmission & half shaft spline differences
I have an Evo VI transmission that I am using for a project but Evo VI half shafts are in short order in the states. Shafts for the 8's and 9's are much easier to find.e Does anyone know if there is a difference between the output splines in a VI vs. an 8/9 transmission?
If the two are different does anyone know if the outputs are interchangeable. I have no problem rebuilding the transmission with current parts. Worse case is I import shafts from JP or the UK.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the reply. That makes sourcing parts much easier for me.
I have seen that the shafts are different lengths throughout the model years so I will be mindful of that when I buy.
Are the splines at the hub end the same for all models 4-9 also?
