As in it doesn't line up with the rest of the accessory drive? You seem to be the only person grasping the concept of the question I'm asking.

EVO One.

The ER water pump is the most hassle free option!

A 4G64/2.4 pump on a 4G64/2.4 block will not line up with the EVO/4G63 waterpipe, pulleys, etc.

A 4G63/EVO pump on a 4G64/2.4 WILL line up with the 4G63/EVO waterpipe, pulleys, etc... BUT, the base of the pump (where it bolts to the block) does not cover the coolant passages in the 4G64/2.4 block completely, and it will leave a cm or so of exposed coolant passage. This is remedied by using a spacer (more of a blockoff than a spacer), or welding additional material to the 4G63/Evo pump.

I hope this explains your question.

I know this is semi off topic, but the evo version of the 4g63, and the dsm version of the 7bolt 4g63 have differant bellhousing bolt patterns. Just an fyi before you get to carried away. I can email you pics of what exactly I am talking about.

Almost all spacers that I have seen leak. It is not an option I would put on a built motors. Grab a ER modified Water pump and be done with it.

Finally some answers. I just wanted to know what the major issue was considering I have a brand new 4g64 water pump sitting here but no evo to look at parts for. This motor is gonna be going in a customers evo as soon as the rest of my parts show up.

I've already confirmed that the evo trans will bolt to my block. That's a big advantage of having shep trans 20 minutes down the road.
