Is it an all the time issue, or intermitant? I had a talk with Chad at CBRD about this happening with the exedy twin. I can't remember the culprit, but he knows what it is. There's a part of the clutch that is more susceptible to warping from heat and occasionally it does. Just be ready for him to sell you on an OS gilkin.

I think its more install error then anything.. i put 600wtq or more down on my exedy twin and its still fine.. and it has a good 6,000 miles on it now or more.. of constant 550-650hp/tq abuse.

The only issue these clutches have are with the wedge collar popping off and can be fixed quite easy with a clutch fork stop.

cant think of what could be wrong, please help!
Bro if you bled your lines tons of times and you said your slave is in good shape then your master might be on its way out. How many miles are on the car, what kind of power do you make and have your replaced either or both of those cylinders yet?

I was at the track dragracing and let the clutch out too slow on a 5500rpm two-step launch and smoked my EXEDY TWIN HD pretty bad, and when I came around for my next run I had the exact same problem, would not go into 1st without turning the car off!! One of the other guys at the track told me I probably had some debri sticking my clutch from that bad launch and that it would shake loose eventually.........so I just continued racing by shutting the car off to get into 1st to launch. After 6 back to back runs the debri must have shaken loose cause I could shift into 1sh again. Have not had any problems since. TSCompusa's comment on the clutch overtravel stop is very good advise for anyone dragracing as this can strand you at the track if your clutch slave cylinder gets punched in. Goodluck!

sounds like a warped ring or intermediate disc... so you arent getting full disengagement.

not a trans issue, cluch issue.

Exactly, it's a clutch issue.

When you can shift with engine off, but not when running.

Another thing, have someone depress the clutch( of course, engine off)
See if you can move both discs with a pick, most likely one will and the other will not.

i know my clutch slave and my master cylinder still good cus it working fine with my previous clutch (Exedy stage 2) there no reason it goes bad by the time the exedy twin in, cant be that coincident, i rebuilt my engine and put the exedy twin in at the same time.

ok so imma round this up really quick:
1. i bled my clutch line lots of time so its not the air problem
2. i had adjusted my pedal up and down many times so its not adjustment problem
3. i checked all my linkage, it all setup right so not linkage problem
4. i know my clutch slave and master cylinder are still good, cus it worked perfect with my previous clutch (exedy stage 2)
5. this happened right after the clutch was installed so idk if its the ToB clip problem, cus dont u have to drive it hard to make the clip popped off? but i didnt even get to drive it at all

if its not any above what else could it be?

you would need a straight edge to check warp. You can't just see it,unless it's really that bad.

But, do you have a clutch fork stop on the car. Because now it sounds more likely that you did a quick release and the collar came off.

If you didn't even get to drive it before all this happened its got to be an install problem! Sorry, your probably going to have to take it apart or bring it to a shop that specializes in EVO's in your area and have them fix it!
