Kink in Downpipe Questions

Hello,

My Evo was wrecked and the repair shop just found a kink in the downpipe. The pipe is going to be replaced, but what is involved in doing so?

Does the radiator need to come out to do the work?
Will they need new gaskets?

Of course I want them to "torque" everything to spec.

Anybody's wisdom will be appreciated.

Thanks,

jcnel.

radiator does not need to come out, you don't even have to take any of the plastic off from underneath. comes off easy. don't know what caused the kink. if it got whacked from underneath, the conical gasket at the o2 housing, where the downpipe bolts up, may need to be replaced - you'd have to look at it, see if it's messed up. torque for the dp bolts are 37 ftlbs i believe.
