Increasing Wastegate Spring from 1bar to 1.5bar

Actually the car is running fine & the boost is very stable ...
Just wanna spool up faster ... thats all ...
Hope the increase wastegate spring will help out abit ...

I'm not sure how the Vipec boost control works, but I would imagine there is a set point where it will start to control boost. Simply upping that set point will be very similar to the higher wastegate spring pressure at those boost levels.


You want solenoid duty cycle to be 100% until boost gets close to the desired set point, then you want the ECU to step in and start controlling things.

A higher spring pressure will help hold more boost when pushing the limit of the turbo, but higher boost doesn't always mean more power if the turbo is being overspun and efficiency has dropped like a rock.

Drove my car today with the increased wastegate spring ...
The turbo definitely spool faster ... but the turbo did overboost to 2.3 bar ...
Now just have to tune it back using Vi-Pec ...
