Great Point Chad! Sorry I overlooked that. I was running another shops tune on the car when it died. The car is now at CBRD in the beginning stage of a new build.

you certainly do not need a ported head for your horsepower goals. Stock size valves, with our pocket port is all you need.

check it out.

Okay what would a ported head actually do for me considering my upgrades. HP,torque, loss, gain, etc.

Don't forget to upgrade your stock clutch. last thing you want to do is get to your goal and roast the stocker, hell you might be losing some power due to slipping. just a thought. btw gsc are really good cams, I had s1 in my ix with a 3065

Our ported head would gain you the same power at a lower boost level. Meaning it will aid making the power without cranking the boost up. Stock size valves, so you would see full boost sooner (varies with intake and exhaust mani) the torque curve move to the left a few hundred rpm sooner. Less prone to detonation with the combustion chamber reshaped and no sharp edges. And you could make up to 700-800ish whp with it in this configuration.

And to be honest, it's not all going to be in the head. It helps you have a good tuner that has the ability to help make those things a reality.

I currently have on my car (Evo IX MR) the following:

Exedy Twin Disc
ETS UICP(short route) & LICP V.2
AMS FMIC (newer version)
Kelford 272s
GSC (or Supertech) Valves Springs, Retainers, & Seats
FP Black Ported w/ 25 wastegate w/ oilline
Buschur Ported Polished Exhaust (coated) & Intake manifolds.
Buschur Ported TB
Tomei Expreme 02s Housing & Downpipe (Coated)
Apexi' Noir Exhaust
AWD Aluminum Driver Shaft
Forge BOV
Forge MBC
Megan Test Pipe
Walbro Fuel Pump
1000cc Injectors

there's more but I'm too lazy to type the remaining. On pump I made 405whp and 364 ft/lbs @26psi on an FP Green HTA; that lasted a month until my Black came in. I now make 461whp and 380 ft/lbs @ 25-26 psi on pump (93). No knock. Totally smooth. Stock block with 63K. AWD Motorsports did the tune and installed everything. LOVE AWDMotorsports!

So you're saying get a black?

I do like my bbk and the spool is quick. Black is a little laggy. Im not against for by no means but I don't know if I have the heart to walk into cbrd and ask Chad to rip out the bbk and slap in a black, haha.

Idk yet but on the head, I probably will get headgames with gsc s2s, gsc valvetrain and maybe go with a bbkb.

But the bbkb might be at a later date.

I still need a brake upgrade, eventually a clutch, and some tires. As for now that's the priority list

I would get the built head personally and fp black. might want to rethink everything. You will need to get anew clutch as well

The BBK and black are COMPLETELY Different turbos.

You can't really consider one and consider the other.

I wouldn't consider the black or fp. Cbrd and bbk is where I'm at. Maybe a bbkb, or when Chad gets that dual ball bearing monster, or whatever he has new and better.

Rockman you also have a built motor to handle the power of a black. Yes I know they get ran all the time on stock blocks but it is my DD and I don't want to risk breaking anything. I saw your YouTube dyno and yeah u got a sick car, but I'm in search of being on the side of reliability, practical, with quick spool, yet putting enough power to reach my considerable goals.

Anyway sick car rockman, just not for me.

Ill have at least another video as well next week. As far as me having a built motor its all about finding deals man. Searching the forums like a Monster they exsist just have to be willing to stay up at all hours and find stuff. Maybe its just me but if your on stock block you would think you would be looking to not make that much tq. the bbk hta green prduce alot of tq rather quickly so you should me more worried about that. now you can of course not tune it to it full potential of course kind of defeats the purpose but you have to do what you have to do until you make major changes
