NEED ADVICE:
I have about 1" clearance between the wastegate dump tube and the radiator. Based on other kits people are running is this enough room for engine movement? Any advice you can provide is greatly appreciated.

UPDATE:
I mocked up the wastegate, but will wait to hear from someone as to my clearance question. I will also add a double slip joint to the wastegate dump tube to allow for movement.

I had about 3/4 to 1" clearance with my old ETS T3 kit from a few years back, if that helps, I was running a Koyo radiator which is super chunky compared to stock also.

It is really fantastic looking. I have a question though. Why exactly did you decide to merge the WG discharge? Why not dump direct to atmosphere?

It is just personal preference as I am not a fan of wastegate noise.

Thanks for your input and that is what I was hoping to hear. I may make some slight changes and should have it completed tomorrow. Will update pics by Noon tomorrow.

I figured as much. I had an external gate on my lowered Buick that was flanged off the bottom of the crossover pipe. It exited just about 4 inches above and straight down onto the road surface. I hated that cracking sound as it ricocheted back up off the pavement.

So, I prefer merged gates as well. It just looks like a lot more work. That's all I was thinking. Nice job

I am not certain but I think that the CBRD radiator's core is thinner than the stock core. Don't know for sure though.

Which is closer to the radiator core, the dump tube, or the turbine housing? For that matter, won't the OD of the comp housing be closer still?

^Thanks

UPDATE:
I added the double slip joint to the wastegate dump to allow for some movement. I also want to send this piece separate to have an inconel shield made as I will most like just wrap the downpipe. I also added the O2 bung so I am getting close. The final portion is to tie in the downpipe to the exhaust and I am also contemplating adding a v-band to the downpipe for future changes.

Yes, compressor housing is ~9/16" so it is close, but it is also lower. As long as it is around the same height as the rotation point of the engine it won't get much closer to the radiator. I am more worried about the wastegate dump tube up high, but it has ~1" clearance so I think it will be ok. I guess time will tell.

Looking good so far...SICKKK!!!

UPDATE:
I decided the add the v-band to the downpipe and finished connecting to the exhaust. I will send the upper wastegate dump, turbine housing, and exhaust manifold to www.atpwrap.com on Monday for some custom inconel heat shields. Not too much more to do, but I suspect it will be at least two weeks before she is running again.
