I have a built 2.4 engine with a HTA3586 with all the goodies, double fuel pump, intake manifold, 70mm throttle body, 1000cc injectors, 280 cams... the list goes on.

I want to go for a smaller, quicker spooling turbo to enjoy "drifting"/power sliding. I was thinking of going for the GTX3076 A/R .63

0.63 A/R is really too small. The 0.82 will not give up much in spoolup, but should free up a good amount of power.

Have you seen anyone with a similar setup? It would be great to see what the spool and power ranges look like.

What's interestings is what David Buschur had to say about the 3076.

Is the GTX3076 that much better than a 3076

Thats a very interesting point of view, there was a time when many felt that the GT3076R had a mismatched wheel combination...

and that the 50 Trim was a much much better turbo in terms of response

I think in terms of wheel combos the GTX3071R is the one to get.

The GTX3071 IS the best package in my opinion. The GTX3076 WILL make more power, but at the sacrifce of response and spoolup. The GTX3071 is a ~500whp turbo, the GTX3076 is more like 550whp. Well, with the correct fuel of course.

I'd guesstimate about 300 rpms. There will also be a difference in transient as the 71mm compressor wheel is lighter than the 76mm wheel.
