EGT sensor install in front 02 sensor bung?

Hey everyone, Im about to tackle installing my prosport EGT guage, and Ive read some people install it in the front 02 sensor bung. This would be most desirable, as I have a stainless manifold heat shield, and I really dont want to bother removing the manifold and such, and I only DD my car. I just want to see if it jumps to a higher-than-average reading, so im not really concerned about accuracy, only precision.

PLUS, Ive already bypassed the front 02 sensor with my LC-1's narrowband output hooked directly into the ECU, which stimulates open loop with a leaner AFR (instead of 14.7 its 15.6), so I should be OK removing it.

What type of fitting would I need to do this? And can I find one at a local hardware store? I really would like to install this manana

Ideally you would want your EGT gauge installed in the exhaust manifold, PRIOR to the turbo. You will see different EGT's in the o2 sensor versus the exhaust manifold.

18 x 1.5

ideally you would have all runners instrumented...however, thats not practical...... Just having a egt is a good thing.....

The benefit of having a egt gauge downstream of all 4 runners, you will potentially see an issue with an injector vs. only having a 25% chance of seeing a bad injector with a egt probe in a runner.

any muffler shop would have a plug. but if you dont have a drill n tap, you'll have to buy what your looking for.

just use anti seize on all the threads.

Maybe this doesn't need said, but not crappy anti-seize. Ultra-high-temp (nickle-based) anti-seize, such as http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CDYQ8wIwAg
