I believe i use viton/teflon and have no issues.. so id say viton/teflon will be e85 resistant.

Yeah -- stick to FIC. ID's customer service BLOWS.

My injectors sat on a desk for something like 10 days because someone "moved" them, and no one knew why they were there, or what they were doing. So instead of ask .. he let them sit on his desk til I called up and *****ed.

One thing I have noticed about the "black goo" is that you can go for quite awhile and depending on where you get fuel it can become a problem very fast. I run gas through my car occasionally and even then I ran into it after about a year.

The odd thing with mine is that it flowed within 25cc but the spray pattern was WAYYY BAD. I know it sounds odd but I filled up one night and knew there was an issue within 13 miles when I went to rip on it and all of the sudden it was missing. We have had customers go 8 miles and they were totally clogged.

I think some of it is stations that dont move much and then get water contamination. The constituent components are carbon (black of course), water, and some petrol by products that have been heated to 155*F. This is from the Link board, we tested some water contamination to see how much it takes before it separated the fuel and it was nearly 50% water.

What did the top of the pistons look like? Are you able to get a borescope to take a look? I would be concerned about the piston that saw the porcelain break.

The odd thing is that this is the ONLY station in Austin and I've seen them run out before so I don't think it's a sitting too long issue but that could vary week to week so I won't count that out. I'm not exactly sure how often the tanks get refilled. When I get e85 I get it in 10 - 5 gallon jugs but they're sealed. I go through about 5 gallons every 2 days so it lasts about 3 weeks total for me counting the full tank in my car. The final 2 jugs of e85 sits for about two weeks before going in my car but containers are sealed and I listen for the pressure release when I open them up (it's Austin so we're hitting 105 daytime and 80 at night so lots of expanding of the container). Could it be sitting too long in the containers in my garage? How long is "ok"? I have a "reserve" 3 gallon tank in my trunk that's been in there about 6 weeks but it's sealed, I relieve the pressure about 2-3 days when I see it bulging.

I scoped all 4 to check for remnants etc. The tops other than showing carbon build up actually look great, no dings/knicks. I don't know if it's because of my piston choice (Wiseco 1400HD) or just because it's breaking and getting smashed to bits so never having much of a choice to cause any damage. I rotated the crank to check the cylinder walls and it actually looks pretty pristine in there. I was going to run some seafoam through once I get the injectors back to clean up the carbon to check and make sure there is no real damage, with all the carbon it's hard to tell 100% but nothing jumped out at me.

Well damn it that wasn't my issue after all. FIC called me and said they aren't matched but they aren't bad at all, they look much worse than reality so back to the drawing board *sigh*

is that filter you added e85 safe? the aftermarket one when you added the bigger lines?

boost leak test?
fuel trims recheck?

explain your issue more.

confirm the 2nd pump kicks on by boost leak testing with fuse in hobb switch?

i dont know how much you checked.. but is the car just going lean at higher RPM or what?

I think part of the issue was it running lean for a little while with no knock thanks to e85 but Tom fixed that, hooray! Car runs in the 10 AFR range now, phew.
