Ok this has just started in the last week. one day normal driving my car started to be a ***** and wanted to be a ****er and grin 3rd for nooooo reason. and it has been doing that. NOT all the time, just sometimes. It does not have the smooth slide all the time. i only have 6700 miles, not ahard also, dont drag. never been to the track. I have gotten on the gas before. lol its an evo.

It seems like 3rd has to be rev matched to get a perfect nice slide, OR you can pop it into 4th while holding the clutch and it will never grind. But if going slow, it will grind, but fast and taking second up in the rpm its fine?????????

anyway mitsu will be lookin at it! damn them lol

 

Change your fluids. I had the same problem except I was having a hard time shifting into second. I used Royal Purple and now it's shifting like butter!!! So far I haven't grind a gear since putting that stuff in.

I used royal Purple for 2 days and changed it out cause it simply made it 3 times worse!

Red line is in there now, still is notchy as a ^%$#@.

I have noted 4 times on service tickets, my gears are very notchy!

ALSO the service monkey said it is normal for this car to have a notchy shifter. LOLOLOLOL what a lazy turd. He should just have said Na,,,,, I dont care to look at it.
