A local guy wants me to install an Arashi turbocharger in his Evo 9. I looked at it and it looked like a good piece. Made sure it didn't have some P.O.S. glued compressor housing.
I tried to do a little research on it before I get involved, but can seem to find any information on them except for ebay auctions. This has me a little nervous, as the last thing I need is installing some crap part and it failing and it coming back on me. Anyone have some info on these things?

Chances are it will probably go boom, Chinese knockoffs are never reliable

 

Kamak Dynamics makes them, so you should be good.

A lot of people use them. But if you mention them on this board people will hate on you and tell you to just buy FP, HKS, or whatever is popular.

They say they are made in Japan.....
Most things made in Japan are usually decent, maybe they have yet to crack the market

I do not understand how on one hand it is posted that there are people running these turbos and then on the other hand, there are no results posted for the rest of the community.
