15-50 huh?

I know FL and Malaysia are 2 diff places but we do tend to share the blazing heat temps.. I'm running 20-50.. I'm wondering if the diff is what is causing the bearings to crap out on you
+1 but our dealers here only carry 15-50 or 300V...

I've never heard a rod bearing causing a "tick"...I've seen 3 evo's with rod bearing failure and all 3 knocked and I mean knocked LOUD, not a tick. That being said if it's from the bottom end I don't see what else it could be

My car also eats plugs at times. I'm running e-85 which is prone to not knocking except a random 1 count every now and then. My issue is that when the electrodes break they go somewhere. In one case mine went through the exhaust wheel and killed my turbo bearings *sigh*

no car should be randomly "eating plugs"...
If it's doing that, something is wrong.
Back the timing off.

E85 still detonates, we have seen it on a race engine. And the crazy thing is that you can't hear it on the det cans.

James - I dont know sorry mate. But i wouldn't run anything apart from 300V 15W-50 now, after seeing what punishment it can withstand

25PSI on a stock turbo sounds kinda steep on 91, were you tuned in the winter?

Edit: Just noticed your location...winter isn't very cold there, heh.

Changed the oil and filter this weekend and my drain plug collected a good amount of metal shavings. I didn't get a chance to cut open the oil filter though.

Sounds like your are dropping fuel pressure or overheating the fuel. If down on power and using ethanol, it will still drive but you lose a lot of torque and power at high AFR. I would check your FPR line and other vacuum lines for leaks and check or replace your fuel pump or pumps.

Either that or you may just have a bad tune.
