Question AMS oil pan question

I've been contemplating getting an AMS oil pan for my car....2.3L, if not only for its looks but for the extra oil capacity. I dont do race courses or autocrosses, but do like the pan as an addition to my car. Now I understand that it comes with a griddle and scrapper, but my question is...can I just add the pan and not install the new griddle and scrapper? Since I would have to clear it and I'am no engine builder.

I understand that, thats not the problem....I have my car in jackstands putting the tranny back on. So this would have been an easy swap of oil pans.

Do it I love mine after I had a machine shop fix it. When I got it from Ams one corner was higher then the rest and Ams told me to put in on something flat and hammer it out straight but that did not work so i had the machine shop fix it. So before you install it make sure it is flat

Did you use the supplied scrapper? Or just installed the pan?

My motor is a 2.2 and I used all of it. Just one little place needed a little grid to make work on the scrapper

Make sure when you go to put it on to have PLENTY of RTV. It takes a lot to make this pan seal correctly.

Other than that it's a great pan, I love it. Also, FYI when you change your oil now, make sure you add 6 quarts (with a new filter), 4.5 with old filter (not sure why you would use an old filter though).

Best price was AMS. Though call them directly or PM Andrew here on EvoM.

I've had mine going on 2 years and it's been rock solid. No leaks.
