Kelford 272 and HKS cam gear settings

I'm currently having an issue of when the clutch is depressed and let off the gas, my afr's are going super rich for 2-3 seconds, then climbing back to target. My tuner and I have been battling this for a couple weeks now to no avail. He now seems to think that it could be because I have my cam gears set to -4/-1, causing smaller overlap and excess fuel. Is this a possibility? Would taking them back to 0/0 help this situation? Also, I know that the current settings shorten the compression stroke to expansion stroke and move the overlap towards ATDC. Does this hurt/help anything? I went with the -4/-1 settings after HOURS of research about best settings for my cams. Would a different setting on both help? All help appreciated guru's.

If you are wondering whether or not your current cam settings are causing your problem, then why not adjust the gears to the factory setting just to experiment?
