HKS Sport Catback

i recently sold my JunB.L. catback as i was looking for something different. this time i wanted something a little more tame sound wise. i loved the JunB.L but like i said i wanted a change. i did some research and was pretty much on the fence about the HKS Sport or Buschur's Magnaflow setup. although Buschur's system is probably alot more free flowing and will probably make more power i decided on the HKS. i love the way the buschur system sounds but i would often read about the dreaded highway drone i did not want anything with. and yes i could have probably installed an additional magnaflow or SD muffler as the testpipe and probably could have avoided the drone. but i wanted something simple and pretty much a one time install.

all and all i like the HKS! it sounds great with no highway drone and i can talk on my Bluetooth radio without too much back ground noise! i'm happy with it for now. i may change my mind in the next couple years but hopefully the car will be getting a complete makeover anyway

as far as fit and finish, it was a pretty good fit and not as heavy as i thought it would be. it is mild steel as it failed the magnet test but the exhaust is coated in some type of ceramic paint. the flanges are smaller than my Megan 3" testpipe flange but i didnt have a problem with the seal. i like to use 2 gaskets when attaching the flanges.

the Muffler does taper a little but it is a straight through design. the rest of the piping is just under 3" and a soda can will fit inside of the pipes. i tried the soda can in the muffler tip which it passed (tip is 4") but the muffler did not accept the soda can i think its around 2.5 -2 .75" . but either way im happy for now. in the next few days i will do a road pull and see where my power is compared to the stock catback.

thanks for looking.
vic

Just Installed mine today, I can feel a power loss over the Megan turbo back that I had, but it so freaking quiet, it's unreal!

I'm sure a loss a few hp as well but I like how quiet it is. Although at times I miss the growl of the JunBL.

After I installed the catback I took the car to the track and ran 12.2 at 118 (****ty 1.8 60ft) which was the same as previous runs with the JunBL
