MBC is maxxed out and Need moreee boost
Sorry for the newb question but just need some reassurance, im at the point where my forge mbc is bottomed out and wont go higher than like 30psi....Most of the parts are in my sig, I believe my black has the normal 17ish psi actuator (Vs the other 25psi one). Do I need to upgrade to the higher psi actuator to raise the boost or am I missing something simple?
Get a FP25psi wastegate actuator, (at which point the LEAST amount of boost when properly adjusted should be 25psi). Lower your MBC to the softest setting and then SLOWLY tighten it while carefully monitoring boost; you should have no problems at that point.
Also make sure you have a good spring in the MBC, a soft spring is likely the cause at the current moment. If not, time to upgrade the wastegate
.
edit: Dave pointed out something I forgot to mention assuming you already knew to make sure you have no boost leaks or other mechanical issues that would inhibit proper building of boost.

Yea you can get a 25psi actuator or try and tighten up your wastegate linkage. I would try to tighten the linkage before stepping up to a 25psi actuator. Its free to tighten up the linkage if you can do it yourself.
None of the above.
If you don't have any boost leaks and a BOV that actually holds boost then the problem is the actual boost controller. Replace it with a real manual controller and you will have all the boost you will ever need. I do not recommend the HD actuator actually, you don't need it

The OP defiantly doenst need to BUY ANYTHING Dave.
OP, All you need is the "hard" spring. Call or Email FORGE and they will ship it out to you (most likely for free).
Problem solved, not a dollar spent.

assuming that there are no boost leaks try replacing the spring in your MBC. i have the forge UNOS MBC with the hard spring and im boosting ~26-27 psi and i am not even close to maxing it out.

I know I got a few little boost leaks, I just fixed my tb seals and o-ring/unrevised threaded nut with the 2 holes in it that hold the forge bov from turning (forge dsm bov). Still need to recheck and fix any other problems before I try anything else obviously. Supposedly the car has been at 42 psi before but I don't know if it was with different parts or current ones. The wastegate actuator is currently set what fp recommends using the half the circle preload method. Going to try and do another boost leak test soon and go from there
I still don't agree. Depending on how low you want your boost to go, you may not be able to get it that low with the HD spring in the Forge. That is why we stopped using them. One spring for low boost, one spring for high boost, change springs back to get boost low again, PITA.
Maybe I am wrong, but I was under the impression that FP only equipped the Black with the 25# actuator. Or, did they fit some of the early units with the 18# WGA? Why are you so sure that yours came with the 18 pounder?

I want to be able to go up to 40psi, not right now but for when I go to the track or when I want to scare a friend or something
and like I said I was told it was tuned at 42 psi but idk if it had the current parts or different ones in it.Question for dave, since it sounds like you're not a fan of forge bov's what would you recommend to hold the boost, and good driveability?
