Triple non HD is the only way to go. For more info feel free to give is a call. A twin will not handle that much tq for very long.

what is the difference in clamping load for SD to HD Emery?
Does it make a massive difference for daily driving?

Triple

I "HEAR" high torque capacity clutches are bad for the drivetrain.

Honestly not sure. We run the triple in almost every car we build. We do not run it in the HD version though as it is not needed. The HD cover it adds stress to a few different things that are better off without it.

The SD will drive much easier and is quite a bit more forgiving on the leg.

If you are interested in one let us know as we are offering pretty good pricing on them now.

you got that right.. the triple HD is even harder to push in then the twin HD.. i unfortunately got the triple HD I hope nothing grenades in my drivetrain from the excess stress of the hd cover.

I have the MM023HR triple plate installed in my evo TME ...
Whats the difference between the SD - HD - HR ?
So far ... my car is running fine with almost 6000 km on it ...

so i been driving the car today.. on the Exedy triple HD/HR and this has to be the best drivability high tq capacity clutch there is for a evo.. the drivability is amazing.. infact its better then the exedy twin. Its so easy to take off from stop and go and it shifts like butter.. it is really a night and day experience from the twin hd i had on.

I am extremely impressed and would recommend the clutch to anyone that is looking for something to hold high power and still have a fun car drivability wise.

my only complaint is its even stiffer then the twin .. so it does feel like you're pushing down bricks.

As Emery said though, probably best to go with the SD unit for a lighter pedal feel.

thats the one i have - MM023HR

The flywheel looked to be made of a different design then my regular Twin HD (MM022HD)

The HR just has the heavy duty pressure plate.

Turbo

Which turbo is best for 2.3 stroker? I want the best possible powerband for highway runs.

depends on your power goals. i like the fp black with my 2.3 but a hta3586 with proper hot parts works great also.

Hey tscompusa .. after i install my clutch ... i'm getting some vibration when my rpm reach 4k ... it seems to be coming from the manual gear stick ... did you have the same problem ?

no i do not have any vibrations like that.. did you blue loctite the flywheel bolts and the pressure plate bolts? did you evenly distribute tq across both of those units in a criss cross pattern? and did you confirm the legs on the pressure plate all bent evenly as explain in the exedy instruction manual? did you use an clutch alignment tool when installing the clutch?

Also confirm that the motor mounts front/rear/side/back are all good and torqued properly.. sounds like you're missing something.

also go over the suspension.. struts, control arm, ball joints, etc.. confirm everything is tightened and proper.

also i guess i should of asked.. boonkae what clutch did you have prior to installing the triple? its possible you're just not used to how a triple sounds in a car?
the triple sounds just like my twin d id.. its not quiet.. but its not overly noisey either.. but yes it does have vibration noises and chatter.
