Maybe the cam cap was used for the wrong number journal. They are sized to be placed in the correct order.

No they were all lined up in numerical order pointing the correct direction.

I remember seeing my friend put together a friend's integra motor and when he was putting the cams in he cleaned em with brake clean like I do then literally put them in the head journals DRY....I was like not going to put oil on the journals or anything? He was like I pour oil over everything when I'm done...like ugh, the most important part is the journals and takes time to get oil up there...I wouldve used assembly lube or oil at least. That kinda stuff makes me cringe, I see lots of people do it too, I dont know why but I dont know how there stuff lasts as long as it does when they do things like that. You used lube when you put the cams in?

Sounds like you rebuilt this engine ? If so was the engine damaged before ?

Had my 2.4 fail about 3 months back on the rollers due to the mineral running in oil getting to hot and turning to water, luckily enough all the cam lobes were fine but there was some fine scoring to the cam journals under some of the caps........................Would you say this could cause a very slight tap in my head??

Or would it be more like the lash adjusters are damaged from lack of lubrication??
