Here is a picture of mine. Notice the shiny side where the spring was rubbing.

This is getting very frustrating. My seals continue to pop off. I even used a 2 part epoxy on them to stay. I held longer but they still pop off. Im really thinking of ditching these for single beehive springs. Maybe I got a bad batch of springs

Having the same issue with my supertech duals. they keep eating valve seals and i have replaced the seals(smaller ones) twice already. i'm also considering singles springs.

UPDATE: I actually contacted Supertech to get there opinion. Turns out the springs I have are the 120lb springs and the inner spring has a smaller inner diameter. They said these are only for very high boost drag racing applications and not for a DD. They said the 95lb springs have a bigger inner diameter and will give more clearance to prevent the seal from popping off. It will also free up some HP. They are selling me the 95lb inner springs only so hopefully this will fix my problem. The outer spring is the same for either 120lb or 95lb

Did they say what the very high boost drag car was supposed to run for a seal?

That's the first thing I asked them. They said the seals are the same. The drag springs don't rub the seals long enough in a 1/4 mile to pop them off I guess. They didn't really give me a true answer.

They didn't say anything about 110lb springs. The drag part number they gave me was spk-m1009d. I don't have my box but I remember when I bought them saying 120lb. They did give me a inside diameter for the springs. I'm going to measure mine this weekend to be 100% sure. The outside diameter of the seal is 13.8mm. The drag inside diameter of the spring is 14.2mm. The 95lb spring inside diameter is 15.2mm.

Just got the new inner springs today. A LOT more clearance. I have a stock valve guide seal I have laying around and I can fit it in these springs. I wont fit in my "drag" springs. Ill get pics of the difference this Friday when I go to change them out.

I changed out the springs Friday night. Here are the side by side shots. I cant fit the stock seal in the drag springs but they fit in the new springs. So if they clear the stock seals the will now have plenty of room with the smaller Supertech seals. Also notice less turns in the spring.

I haven't had a chance to start it because on my 13th spring I went to release the tension of the spring to lock in the keepers and one popped out and landed right in the oil drain for the head. I tried using a magnet to fish it out but no luck. I drained the oil hoping it would come out. It didn't. I filled the engine with oil and drained it again with no luck. So needless to say I had to remove the oil pan. I didn't see it in the oil pan. I found the keeper on top of the windage tray and put everything back together yesterday. Im waiting 24hrs before I fill it with oil to let the silicon dry for the oil pan. So be very careful doing this. I guess I started to get a hang of it and started to move too quickly in the end and this happened. I'm just happy I found it.

I have a set of supertech valve guides and bigger cams. Still need to get a head gasket and misc things. I'm going to pull the head in another month or so. My springs are BC singles, maybe it was the 30psi that popped them off the first time and 28psi after the new seals were installed. I am thinking of some old school umbrella seals but idk how that will work with the spring locator. In the mean time my car spends it's days parked.

So, I opened her up and all my seals are still in place. Confused, I did a compression check and got 160-165 in all cylinders with gsc s2's. Pulled the intake mani to ship out to map for porting and found a little bit of oil in all 4 intake ports on the head. I previously had a catch can between the pcv and I M but cought nothing so I removed it. Can my oil be coming from the intake valves and creeping out of the ports a bit or somehow coming from the pcv?
