Help with 2nd Gear issue

So I've searched up and down the forum and haven't found a case like mine yet. When the car is cold or hot it won't shift into second from 1-2 unless you are above 3k rpm or if you shift it very fast, otherwise it locks you out of the gear. Also when downshifting from 3-2 it usually never shifts down into 2nd just locks you out like shifting into a wall. If you drive it hard and shift at 7k it shifts up into 2nd like butter. I've never had an issue like this and usually the lockout is backwards at the upper rpm range. Let me know if you have any ideas. I have adjusted the clutch pedal.

did you just get a new clutch installed? Might need to adjust it.

i had this very same problem with my evo 8 i had back in highschool. It was second gear and i had the evo tech at the dealer tell me it was because i wasnt shifting right? In the end they had to rebuild my trans under warrenty and it turned out the problem was from a bad 2nd gear synchro. Its common becauase of what i had found out was the double sychcro the evo trans have in second gear

Yeah it's what I am assuming, but if that's the case then it isn't going to get fixed for a while haha. Thanks for the response.

It's strange the way you describe the problem..usually it's quite the opposite. I would agree that it's a sync/slider problem.

It seems like it has been slowly getting worse for 2k miles. Most all gears are a little notchy.

Sounds like a 2nd gear synchro spring. It's a $2 part. You must have missed 2nd gear few times hard.
