starting issue was fine before

ok so my car was cold starting fine prior to yesterday. I got the normal 2000 rpm climb on startup and settled around 1500 rpm during warmup. a/f in the 12-13 range. everything was pretty good. Now the car wont turn over unless a give it a little gas and sometimes hold the throttle to keep it going. The car sounds like its on 3 cylinders and carrying on. After alittle it catches itself and the car runs like normal. Nothing has changed, no parts, and weather is the same. I changed plugs and front o2 already. Any ideas? thx

My AFR stays around high 14 mid 15 at idle. Maybe one of your injectors came loose, have you checked that?

What is the temp change between yesterday and today and are you running e85? Being it is getting colder out pending on where you are, the cold startup may need tweeking below a certain temp.

yeah all injectors look good and they are less than 2 months old. My a/f ratio is 12-13 during warmup but after warmup my a/f is high 14s to low 15s. Wide open pulls are still spot on and car feels great. Its just startup amd 2 days ago it was perfect. Its very weird. Unless my idle air control valve is messed up thats the only other thing i can think of.

His mod list says hes on 93. Ive heard of that happening with E85 matter fact but that happens when you cant keep the car in a garage at extreme cold temperatures doesnt it?

If it was idle air your car would surge no matter what. I just delt with that with my car. Sounds like it just needs to be tweeked in colder weather.

Yeah why I asked if he was on e85 now. No cold will do it to e85 no matter where you keep the car.

it is on 93oct and this started on friday. Temps have been mild here say 60 degrees. I had many cold starts from 35-60 degrees already and all were fine. I did get fuel at a place i never got from before on thanksgiving and the next day this ****. Long shot bad gas?

The iac has 4 coils i believe. What if the 1 coil that holds it fully stepped out for cold starts has failed giving me no air on startup. I have to blip the throttle to get it going. Cracking the throttlebody would give it that air it needs. Like i said warm starts are fine then where the iac doesnt need to be fully opened. Maybe ill pull it tomorrow check the resistance of the coils and clean it. thx for the replies guys I appreciate it

Well being you just said that you put gas in from a place your not use to put a bottle of heet in there. Maybe its like alot of stations and watered down fuel. For 2 bucks its worth a shot.

Funny when I use different fuels my car acts up but nothing serious. Thats why I stick to the same fuel stations for the most part.

I agree I try to stick with one particular gas station myself. Now I run e85 doesn't seem to change much.

1st pic my iac does not look like any others I see googling or on ebay. The end looks messed up
2nd pic is what I found in my tb. plastic half moon. Not sure where its from
3rd pic shows where that piece was. In the center hole
4th pic I had to remove this guy to get the part out not sure what it does

the iac coils all checked out at 28.7-29.1 ohms. I think i need a new iac. not sure where other pieces are though
