Fuel Cut !!
Fuel Cut !!
Well my evo has never had a fuel cut till today.....i just installed the aem intake greedy boost controler boost guage air fuel guage and a greddy type s blow off valve recirculatting......and i dont understand my air fuel gauge only goes between red and green and i get a fuel cut every time i hit 19 pounds on evrey gear.....what do u think is wrong can it be that my guage is screwing up the signal to the ecu??.....i need some ones help here
For what its worth.. in the future only make one change at a time.. when you make too many changes at the same time, you could end up in a situation where you aren't sure what modification could have caused a problem.
well in the past i had the hks suction kit with all the same mods before and i never had a problem.....i had a issue where i needed to go back to stock because of warranty so i went ahead and got a aem intake this time.......but check this out i just found that i didnt put the clamp behind the bov that goes to the intercooler piping.....its still on and tight but can this be the issue at such high boost??
I've hit fuel cut a few times, it happens when the air is cold/dense. Also was your car warmed up all the way? Was it at 850rpms before you stepped on it? What boost gauge do you have? The GReddy? Maybe your running higher than 19#'s. Have you tried turning down your boost to 18#'s? Also if you have the Profec-b, have you adjusted your gain at all? Anyway just trying to fish in the dark here.........
well its getting late here in miami so i guess ill let u guys know wussup tomorrow after work......who knows i might just go back to my old hks suction kit....i didnt have a problem then .....by the way i have a cobalt electronic guage.......its crap .....ill put the mechanical back on and switch to the hks...ill keep you informed....wish me luck....
Good luck dude.. I think every air intake works a bit differently and some can have trouble, some may not. Verify that there's no air leaking from the BOV also.. it could cause drivability issued, but not necessarily the symptoms of fuel cut. Usually a odd MAF reading(reading too lean or rich), and/or boost spike, can lead to fuel cut.
