Car won't start after cam install help!!!
no crank sensor means no fuel or spark. so yes that would prevent a car from starting. but from what he said it backfired. so as i was saying was its probably a timing issue. i also wasnt asking about the balance shaft in regards to it not starting. just as problems hell have down the road.

yeah your probably talking about the cam sensor. it should still start on that but who the hell knows. theres really not that much to go wrong on a timing belt and cam install so im kind of lost until he gives more info
In step 32, I made the same mistake my first time doing cams and flipped the sensor. It still started up while giving it gas but would immediately die. Later when my tuner came out to idle did I find out I accidentally flipped it because there was knock all across the board and my gas mileage was complete crap.
I have installed my CAS trigger 180 degrees out and my car would not start at all and it did backfire while trying to start it. i just flipped it 180 car started and ran perfect.
ok guys so this is why you dont work on cars until 3am the cam position sensor was not aligned correctly. i fixed it and it started right away now it idles sick as **** thanks guys i should have known
