2004 Front LSD
This is a bit OT but It's not new-thread worthy
Chris, you mentioned you're interested in the front LSD. Did you change your mind about the S4, or are you just planning on dropping that in before it arrives?
As for Quaife, afiak (like Chris), they weren't interested, but there was a thread I believe saying it was in production.

(I hope) Thanks for the info!
That's a good sign
You'd better believe thats a good sign. Getrag is top notch. They made the 6-speed tranny for the supra, considered by many to be the best production transmision ever.

As for the diff, I am trying to get in on that group interest order in another thread. The front diff will make a world of difference for me - I auto-x a lot and I plan to do a lot of track days this year.

To clarify:
The front diferential is not in the transfer case - it is located in the same case as the transmission (transmission/transaxle). The center dif. is located in the transfer case. The transfer case bolts to the transmission/transaxle assembly. The front dif. does not have a ring and pinion per se.; it has a large helical gear mated to the dif. gear.
You cannot buy parts from Mits. for the transfer case. You can buy parts from Mits. for the transmission/transaxle.
When the transfer case goes out under warranty Mits. puts in a new unit.

As reported in the new issue of SCC, a limited slip diff. on the front would play havoc with the ABS on our cars since we do not have AYC. That is why the RS has the limited slip and no ABS. Honestly, how many people here would know the difference if you were driving with a quaife or not (without being told)?
