Maybe we should ask Mitsu if they would change our front diff to the RS LSD for warrantee purposes?

Just a thought....

that's really way too broad based of a statement - a proper 1 or 1.5 way LSD would certainly not play havoc on the ABS at all - lots of AWD cars have both. The diff simply needs to be right for the application.

Sorry, I didn't catch your post, tough guy.

And what is the point of that remark? Nowhere did I say I was tough...I was simply stating the obvious. If that bothers you I suggest you learn to live with it as I don't feel I need to apologize for actions not intended to insult you. Peace.

Edit: Seems you still have some issues....

Honestly, how many people here would know the difference if you were driving with a quaife or not (without being told)?
They may not know that it's a Quaiffe, but they would definitely notice that the car feels significantly different when powering out of corners. Ever drive one? The benefits are truely impressive and not at all subtle.

You cannot buy parts from Mits. for the transfer case. You can buy parts from Mits. for the transmission/transaxle.
When the transfer case goes out under warranty Mits. puts in a new unit.
The _front_ differential, the viscous coupler and the ring and pinion that drive to the rear wheels are all inside the transfer case. This seems weird for sure, but the do it with a bunch of hollow shafts to get power going every which way. Even with the parts all in your hand it takes a while to comprehend it all.

The _center_ differential is insode the transmission where a normal FWD tranny woud have it's front diff. But in the EVO, it is actually the center differential.

You are correct about all of the parts inside the transfer case not being able to be purchased separately (other than seals and o-rings). Yes Getrag can make some tough parts if they are contracted to, but the problem is that they dont like to sell parts separate. When something fails, you need to replace the whole assembly at a pretty high cost.
